Family Law
Family Law is a major component of our firm’s practice, and one in which all three attorneys regularly engage in. This is a unique are of law that requires not just knowledge of the law and procedure, but a keen ability to work cooperatively with our clients to set realistic goals and a plan to obtain such results.
We realize that clients that retain us for divorce, custody and/or support actions are going through a very difficult time in their lives. We feel it is imperative that our clients feel that we care around their individual situation and do not treat them in a “cookie-cutter” manner.
All three attorneys are extremely knowledgeable in the complexities of all aspects of this area of practice, and keep well informed as to updates in the law. We are also very familiar with the Judges in our judicial district, which helps us tailor your case for the best possible resolution.
Adoptions
Adoptions at Kulla, Barkdoll and Stewart, PC are handled exclusively by Attorney Kulla, who, as the father of an adopted child, takes this responsibility personally. Attorney Kulla has handled hundreds of adoptions, ranging from step-parent adoption, non-relative adoption to international adoptions. He is keenly prepared to advise clients on the implementation of a strategy to either obtain the consent of relinquishing parent(s), or, when need be, to engage in the process of involuntarily terminating parental rights.
Attorney Kulla takes great joy in helping our clients and their young ones achieve family permanancy.
Personal Injuries
Kulla, Barkdoll and Stewart, PC is unique in that we frequently accept personal injury cases that the large “television firms” turn down. We realize that helping out clients to be “made whole” and receiving due compensation is important, regardless of whether the case is worth $20,000 or $20,000,000.
We have obtained millions of dollars in compensation for our clients by working cooperatively in this difficult process. We are fully versed in all aspects of this area of practice, including obtaining all the necessary information and documentation to present a compelling case for settlement or, when necessary, to take the case to trial. We understand the complexities of insurance law, underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage, and indemnification (the area where at times liens are held on recoveries that must be reimbursed).
We are always available to make sure you understand this complex area of the law and that you feel you someone on your side, who cares about your case as if it was one of our family’s.

Estate Planning & Estate Administration
Pennsylvania Estate Planning & Administration
Planning for the future is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your loved ones and ensure your wishes are honored. Our experienced attorneys provide comprehensive estate planning and administration services, guiding clients through every aspect of wills, trusts, probate, and more.
The Importance of a Will
A properly drafted will ensures that your assets are distributed according to your wishes, rather than Pennsylvania’s intestacy laws. Without a will, the state determines how your estate is handled, which may not align with your preferences.
Power of Attorney & Living Will
A Power of Attorney allows you to designate a trusted individual to handle financial and legal matters if you become incapacitated. A Living Will (or advance directive) ensures your healthcare decisions are followed in the event you cannot communicate them yourself. These documents provide peace of mind and prevent unnecessary legal complications for your loved ones.
Experienced Estate Administration & Probate Attorneys
Administering an estate can be complex, especially during a difficult time. We have extensive experience handling probate, trusts, and estate administration, ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania law while minimizing stress for executors and beneficiaries. We handle estates throughout south central Pennsylvania.
Looking for Mediation?
Our Alternative Dispute Resolution processes have been tested time and again throughout the country. We offer negotiation assistance, mediation, binding and non-binding arbitration, counseling, mock juries, and expert advice. We have a wide range of professionals on call to assist in the resolution of your case.
